"Good Morning" to my friends on the other side of the World. I do hope you're all looking forward to another day spent under wide blue skies, cool breezes, warm sunshine and friendly people � now there's something we've yet to do, meet some of the people. All in all, we're generally a very friendly bunch. I think it's fair to say that in most countries, there's a mix � some are friendly and others?... Well, the least said the better!
Some of our accents are incomprehensible, some of our manners leave a lot to be desired and some of our customs are considered quite bizarre. Now, there's a thought! Shall I serve witchetty grubs at the next banquet or wallaby stew? Perhaps not! [I still haven't mastered the act of swallowing oysters whole, but that's another story]

Today, I thought we might look at just one of our customs which is very popular amongst our people and which comes in many shapes, sizes and forms. I�m talking about Gambling!! However, we don�t need casinos or race tracks -- and other more conventional ways of losing one�s money. Let me introduce you to a couple of the lesser known and less appreciated forms of Aussie gambling.
Every Anzac Day, legal games of Two-up are played all across Australia. This innocent game was invented (so I�m told) by Aussies away at the war, to keep themselves occupied and to keep alive their love of gambling. You need to appreciate that Aussies will bet on absolutely anything, if there�s a possibility of something beating something else. Imagine placing a number of snails in the middle of a chalked circle, having first �trained� a pedigree snail to slime faster in the hope that it will be the first to cross the chalk line. Or perhaps, the even more bizarre situation, when gambling on the unlikely outcome of ...?
Well, I�m afraid you�ll just have to wait till 9.00am to find out!

As with the previous two weeks, I shall follow the rules relating the word length as introduced by crofter. Each of my chosen link words contains at least four letters and at most eight. Stray outside this range and you will be wasting one or more of your attempts! Each of my selected words may go in front of or after my challenge word. The competition will officially close at 7.00pm on Sunday evening when crofter will declare my selected words, then apply the same rules for awarding points that have been applied during all MM Link Games in the past. My third set of words to be linked should appear below at 9.00am.
