I thought he was a great player but dont like him as a pundit or manager. I've gone from liking Newcastle to hoping they go down so we wont see Shearer on TV as much.
I'd rather see Hull survive!
Do you wanna see Newcastle going down or not?

As a long-suffering Newcastle fan ( over 50 years and still counting ) the answer is "No" but they will go down.
He is not the messiah ! He's a very naughty boy !

If they do go down then maybe the Geordies will accept the fact that they are no longer a big club .

Ouch Novalis - I wish Newcastle could have been better - even I got suckered by messiahs once or twice - but Shearer - never - not all players make good managers.
Totally agree Squitty!

You can count on one hand the top players who have become top managers. Top players who haven't succeeded as managers are the rule not the exception.

With you on the fans Steve.S - cant recall anyone I have met who supports Newcastle being obnoxious - just genuinely fervent.
It won't help by them playing next Sunday when their rivals have already played the day before. Its possible the gap would be too wide and dampen enthusiasm.
Having some pillock blasting out "The Blaydon Races" into a microphone before the game the other night was nothing short of cringeworthy.

Plus overpaid, over expensive and over-the-hill signings like Owen, Smith, Viduka, Duff, Butt, as well as the thug Barton have done them no favours at all. These are the real reasons why they're in the sh*t.
yes i want Toon to survive but fear we wont
and have to admit i cringed at that bloke belting out the Blaydon Races for 10 bloody minutes or whatever
I've just realised there are Anfield this weekend . Bye bye Newcastle
I fear we are already down and our one shining light (having better goal diff than our rivals) will be blown away at Anfield this Sunday! :o(

My take on the 'Big club' arguement. Are we a big club?? Yes, 50,000 fans, massive stadium, lots of trophies in our history.
Are we a big club in terms of trophies recently. NO!
The big club debate can be looked at in two different ways as stated.

We frankly deserve to go down this season, we have won the least amount of games out of all 92 clubs. Only 6 all season FFS!

The chairman made a **** up at the start of the season by selling Milner and bringing in Xisco, both the doing of Mike Ashley and Dennis Wise. Thats why Keegan went, he was undermined. So does Ashley learn from that?? No, he gets in Joe fukinnear as a replacement, then we end up being the only club making a profit in the Jan transfer window. The writing was on the wall by the time Shearer came to the club, we simply haven't got the players capable of getting us out of the preverbial.

Its championship here we come......... i hope i'm wrong
