What can you tell from

Reading a different thread and someone said a poster was dyslexic as she could tell by reading the posts !

So what else can you tell ?
Seriously can you tell of anything from posts or merely what you interpret or what the poster wants you to interpret ?

Id be interested to see some of the replies.

BTW this isn't so anyone can say they can tell someones an idiot or that someone has small hands , or that someones a daily mail reader .

It would be almost impossible to feign dyslexia on a forum like this,it does tend to follow set patterns.Some people claim to be dyslexic when they aren't very good at spelling but there are obvious differences to those who have knowledge of dyslexia.

Sometimes you can legend,I can tell when certain posters have been drinking for example :)
It all depends on whether people are genuinely typing their honest thoughts and opinions or just trying to shock etc.So generally- no you can't tell for sure.

exactly, i could come on here and fabricate a whole life, noone could possibley ever tell as long as you were careful about it . they say to be a good liar youhave to have a good memory , thats why i could never do all that , too much like hard work if you ask me .

We can guess, but never know for sure. I'm sure we all have an image in our minds of what we think a poster may look like, be like etc, but when all we have to go on is reading posts which could be the truth, could be cr@p.

I think the only thing we can guess, after a while, is the gender of a poster - but a clever person could get away with that sort of subterfuge if they were careful.

I could never pass for someone good at spelling.

I think you can pick up little things as a go along, I am not a huge answerbank person and I dont know many people but I remember names of people who stand out, the loud ones and chatty ones and mummy ones, and intelligent ones and of course those points come out in the way they write.

I am sure I write in a very basic way no big words some mistakes too, but I try my best and try and better myself as much as possible. I am friendly never too rude and hopefully come across friendly. That's me and I am sure that must come across in the way I write?? Oh and I have never once pretended to be someone else or the other sex as it's just not normal for me to lie like that.

You're right tho Leg - assumptions can be stupid, though don't know about dangerous? Unless you genuinely upset someone on here by some casual throwaway remark & they go & do something silly as a result of it.
