Welcome to Title Builder Beta.

This small piece of kit is designed to make building your Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle question more effective. It should make finding your question easier for others and, the easier it is to find, the more likely someone is to answer it!

To build an easy to find question title simply select the paper and quiz, enter the quiz number if relevant and fill in the Publication Date. Once you’re happy click “Build Title” and the information should populate the Title field. Fill in the final required details of your question as you normally would, and click submit.

As this is a Beta we only have a limited number of papers and quizzes listed. If you think your favourite Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle should be listed here don’t hesitate to contact us.

Remember: You do not have to use the title builder - simply enter the title and question as you normally would and click submit!

The Royal Engineers Star of David

Can somebody please tell me if;
A) The Star of David is part of the standard etch on all Royal Engineer's ceremonial swords?
B) If not, what would be the specialist trade of those who carry those particular swords?
C)Does it have any masonic connections?
D)Is it because that officer or NCO was a Sapper with training or responsibility for construction, brick-laying or related duties or trades?

The WWW & the Net are totally useless on the subject of ceremonial swords, except for dodgy geezers trying to flog you offensive weapons. Humbug!

Don't know if it helps, but I found this:
The answer to the Star of David on the NCO sword is that it is not the Star of David. It is the Star of Damascus the symbol of world renowned steel and sword craftsmen. These craftsmen used two triangles joined together as a sign of their sword making guild which became know as the Star of Damascus. This symbol means the sword was fashioned with Damascus steel and over 1,000 years of craftsmanship.
