MM and KM Links November 2008 [Week 1]

Good Evening AB Linkers, everywhere!

Welcome to this first week in the reign of Tricksy Strix-y, who should appear in person tomorrow! It is true to say that Strix is a relatively recent addition to the Shrubbery family, yet he has been able to capture the playful mood instantly. He has proved to have a sharp wit and a truly unique grasp of language. All the text is ready for tomorrow's launch of MM Links and I am looking forward to an exhilarating month of challenges from him.

Don't forget that this will be a five-week month, so you better make every effort to engage with the shining wit (not a Spoonerism) of Strix. So batten down the hatches and prepare for bloody battle. The posting should open at 8.45am and the four words to be linked should be declared at 9.00am tomorrow, when MM Links kicks off in earnest. Remember, remember ~ that early hits gain bonus points!

Of course, it is also a brand new start for the international version of this same game which is called KM Links and kicks off at the unearthly hour of about 06.30am! If I am not mistaken, the regular organiser from Oz, seekeerz, is going on a walkabout and we are fortunate to have the worthy gen2 to cover for her until her return. As I always say ~ �Why not chance your arm at both Link Games?� They remain open for most of the weekend and all entries are scored and entered on to master scoreboards.

As usual, tonight is Italian night at the Croft and I have the red wine breathing! I hope that you are well wrapped up against the cold. I notice that the hydrangeas are already showing signs of frost damage and the dahlias look pitiful. This weekend, I�ll be digging up bulbs and tubers ready for storage over Winter. However, not until I have sorted out my predictions!

It has gone really cold...we will have to have an early bonfire tonight to keep warm.....any suggestions for the guy? :-))

Well...I was at the Post Office yesterday to send a package...and was asked did I want first or second class?
I asked what the difference would be....and was told well we don't do second class for that size package...only first.
Now am I missing something.....or what was the point of the question?
Surely he should have just given me the only price available?
So what's the most stupid thing you've been asked?

Have been dressed as a witch all day at work
we have had a black cat and a skeleton plus loads of other fancy dress
kids came in and a member of staff dressed as a witch read spooky stories
all good fun
hence all the spooky songs

Well Jan...after answering my front door tonight about 6 times already....I have sat in back room and turned all lights off at front of house! ...somebody will probably try and break in now!!!

really strange we thought we would have loads and feel quite disapointed not one knock at the door even the grandchildren have gone out of town to a party so they didnot call
how sad am I nobody wants to trick or treat me??
shall have to eat the treats myself :-(((((
