MM Links Solutions September 2008 [Week 4]

This final week in the reign of King Wickedtongue continued to provide a healthy number of bonus points for the early birds with the last link going to a shrewd late-comer. Following a theme of Silvertongue's Birthday, I can now reveal his chosen links were:

Party POOPER

These words to be linked brought a nail-biting finish before the September Champion could be identified!

New-comer roslyn was first off the blocks and eager to impress by adding to her excellent start to the month. Sadly her bubble was burst by PARTY POOPER in the guise of Dinkypuzzled who started the sacred abacus spinning. Next came Strix & Grenmus in their BIRTHDAY SUITS to gain TWO POINTS each for their bare-faced cheek (or should that be bare-cheeked effrontery?). They seemed to start a fashion when miss meg &cliffyg turned up very soon after in similar attire (or lack of it). Each was to pick up Two Points.

However, this was only a prelude to a grand appearance when beejay made an entrance in a BIRTHDAY SUIT but also carrying CARD BOARD to cover their �em-bare-ar*e-ment�! That was worth every one of their FOUR POINTS and qualified them for the honour of HOT SHOT OF THE WEEK!

There was a steady stream of �single pointers� until Entrant #39 arrived at 15.52 (probably just got up!) and digging in to a healthy breakfast of CREAM CAKES and carrying CARD BOARD. You may have guessed, it was evsajo (aka Kay) to pick up a very impressive THREE POINTS! Also worthy of mention with double hits were x-ray & jasperthomas. A special welcome to jasper, bryand & Rambling (again) and better luck during the month of October.

The September League Table after this final week is:

NINE POINTS: ulysses100 & x-ray
EIGHT POINTS: centrino & Grenmus
SEVEN POINTS: cliffyg
SIX POINTS: Shazza, Dustybun, Magyar & miss meg
FIVE POINTS: burgess, freebi 2 & roslyn


In the case of a tie (on Nine Points) we look back for their highest scores. The highest weekly score for x-ray was 4 Points, whereas ulysses100 scored 6 Points in Week 1. I therefore declare ulysses100 as victor by the narrowest of margins!

On so many occasions I have been the bridesmaid, but oh to be the winner is so sweet. Congratulations and commiserations to x-ray for being there up at the top with me, and to all those worthies just points away below. Thanks also to wicked tongue for the month's links and I hope that I can be as good as past setters.
crofter I'll e-mail you tomorrow if that's OK. I just hope that everything runs smoothly as I am just about to move house on Friday (and I know that others have had problems with their providers and connections). I am with AOL and they have said that the changeover should be proceed smoothly (famous last words ?).
