Does ipod work OK with PC's or is it only for Apple/Mac?

Thanks buttons - I thought so but wanted to check before I spent a wedge!
I think you require a firewire card though...
u dont require a firewire card as you can use usb but firewire is much much faster so is recommended
They may have changed things, but check what you get in the box: you may need to get an extra cable to use USB.
It USB 2.0 you need which is about the same speed as firewire. It's fairly recent (last couple of years) so check if your PC has it :) If not, USB 2.0 PCI cards can be picked up for about �15

Does work with windows, but im sure i heard it wont play mp3, only plays apples aac. I might be wrong, tho, so check first.
Potatoman you are wrong: the iPod ships with Musicmatch and iMusic both of which will rip .mp3 files from CDs and allow you to dump them onto the iPod.
Cheers, didnt think it did play mp3.
