Can someone please provide explanation and answer to ...14(d) Short tree upended stall (4) ; this is the last one and I have it as -R-B but can't make any of the possible answers fit the clue ( I also found some of the others a bit obscure too - maybe not my day). Thanks in advance

Crib...Birch (short) less H and upended ..backwards ..a crib is a stall
