Lets look at Muktar Ibrahim, one of the bombers given a 40 year prison sentence a few days ago.

He came here as an asylum seeker in 1990 but was soon involved in crime and finished up getting a 5 years prison sentence in 1995.

Just 30 months after being let out of prison he was given a british passport !!.

He used it once, to go to Pakistan to learn how to be a terrorist.

Are we stupid or what !

I am sure millions of law abiding foreigners would love to come here and be given a British passport, but we decide to give one to a man who was involved in a string of criminal offences and served 5 years in prision.

Surely a British passport should be EARNED, not given away to any piece of scum that turns up on our doorstep.

I used to love being English, and living in England. I was proud of our country and would defend it to the hilt.

I am now ashamed and embarresed to be living here and feel our politicians, both Tory and Labour, have let us down big time.

No wonder so many British people go to live abroad.

Many hard working British people have taken their money and pension and are now living abroad and spending their money in other countries.

Meanwhile those of us who are still here are seeing our taxes paid to keep scum like Muktar Ibrahim on the dole, and in prison.

It makes me sick, but I feel powerless to do anything about it because the 3 main parties act as though there is no problem.

A vote for any of them means this sort of thing will just carry on.

How to ruin a country in 20 years !!!!

Ditto.
I'd like to live in either Virginia or North Carolina.
Start the VHG party! You get my vote!
Seconded.
thirded
Why did he get involved in crime when he came he as an asylum seeker?

Was he allowed to work? What sort of crime was he involved in?

Maybe the restrictions imposed on asylum seekers gave him distaste for our country and was taken up by some radical speaking nutter of a terrorist and it seemed an attractive option.
Did he come here as an asylum seeker and immediately allowed to work and earn some self respect. treated with respect and dignity by the British and praised for making the best of a bad situation.

There are of course always bad apples and those with crazy ideas or was he in a weak situation and prayed on as vulnerable.
I dont know the answers VHG, Im not taking the sides of the terrorist but all I can see is half a story.

I do agree he should never have been given a passport. I dont think any criminals should be allowed to travel overseas until they have had their time spent. Paedophiles etc should probably never be allowed to travel and closely monitored for the rest of their lives.

Totally agree vhg. Goodsoulette, you are being very kind! I have no excuses to hand out to any person for becoming a terrorist and trying to kill and maime other people.
All our recent troubles seem to stem from the Human Rights Act. Common sense says that they should be deported to their country of origin and imprisoned there but we shall be picking up the tab for the rest of their lives. Maybe we should resurrect hanging for those wanting to go to paradise.
Vote BNP Simple and VHG i echo everything you say
Well I for one still love this country and am proud to be a citizen.

Yes, this is a case which sounds totally wrong. Sorry, but mistakes have happened.

I am curious as to which Utopian country you wish to move to or which you would like to compare us to?

I am also curious (to those BNP supporters) as to why you think they would be any different? (try googling BNP councillors and seeing how the local councillors behave)
Vote for me, not VHG.

I have the policies and the energy to transform the country.

I've already got my cabinet sorted out in my head.

Amy Winehouse for Home Secretary anyone?
< Holds head in hands & shakes it in disbelief>

Amy Whitehouse Splat?! I despair of you sometimes, I really do. Any fool knows Jarvis Cocker would do a much better job.

Is the question 'are we stupid or what?' Well I can't answer for everyone else but personally I sometimes have moments of stupidity that astonish myself.

If it's an opinion you're after then I think that Oneeye expressed it a lot better than myself.
Isn't it great though that we live in a world where people can move countries and live elsewhere if they're not happy?

For those ashamed or embarrassed by England and who are sick of living here, enjoy your trip.

I too would like to ask where this utopian country is , out there that's preferable to our's - cos I am having trouble thinking of it

Anybody who is not proud to be living here , can I suggest a one way ticket ?
Oh , and dont forget your passport - you wouldn't want to be stopped at the airport and having to spend any more time than is necessary in this country - having to go and fetch it - would you ?
well, off you all go, chaps. I'm sure there are plenty of countries that will welcome migrants like yourself. Try Australia (where the locals point out that you can always tell the flights from the UK because the whining goes on after the engines have stopped).
Directions to Utopia = Second star to the right and straight on til morning.

There is an answer to this problem VHG and that is to vote BNP

Not to put them in power, god forbid, but to show the cretins in parliament how sick and tired we are of having to pay out billions of our money on immigrants

Tory B liar has let approx 200,000 immigrants into this country every year who at day one are entitled to free housing, welfare cheques, free health care, free schooling for their kids etc., for which they have contributed absolutely NOTHING and at the same time this to$$er is telling British people they shouldn't expect to retire at 65 they should work until they are 70 (or to put it another way they should contribute all their lives and work until they die)
