Have been suffering withdrawal symptoms - taken the pills now but still cant figure out the last two in this crossword 17a Coming from Mercia to the peninsula ?R?M?? and 16d Movement on board moulding left inside C?ST?I?G - any help would be appreciated as I have struggled since Saturday

I had 17a as Crimea and other as Castling.
Crimea , anagram of Mercia

Many thanks grasscarp and bridgenut - gosh that was quick!!
Explanation of castling is moulding - casting - with left (L) inside - and sounds like something you could do on a chessboard.
