Heav'n has no rage, like love to hatred turn'd, Nor hell a fury, like a woman scorn'd. A great favourite of mine, it is from The Morning Bride, author William Congreve, but often misquoted.
Ooooops - The Mourning Bride.

Thanks Janetex :)
How obscure - I couldn't get that quote out of my head the day b4 yesturday and then you ask what it is. Creepy...
I prefer the Willie rushton version- "Hell hath no fury like mrs Gladys Tressel of 59 the glebe orpington"
I prefer the version that involves a woman sitting massaging her foot, having removed a tight high-heeled shoe, and saying: "Hell hath no fury like a woman's corns!"
Mock if you will, sniff sniff.
hell hath no fury than that of the lawyer of a woman scourned!
