federation of aviation regulations

TROTTIE, i am doing a course on tourism and have been asked about aviation regulations.I need info on the Federation of aviation regulations(FARS).They also want info on The code of federations -when it came into being and what effect it had on the industry.Dispite research i seem to be drawing blanks.Can you help ? thanks.

Federal Aviation Regulations - there is some information on Wikipedia, (or even Google. ) There is a link also to the
Code of Federal Regulations from Wikipedia.
