If somone were to be booked off work due to stress for 3 weeks - is it permittable to automatically deduct pay from one's salary for this time off work?
Having been given no indication this would happen, it's come as a shock & surely there is a certain amount of days for unpaid leave in these circumstances...but not for the entire 3 weeks?
Hi Topocco, Check your contract of employment for sick pay agreements.
My company does not pay any sick pay but you are elligible to statuary sick pay, which is a meagre amount, paid to you by the benefits agency. The benefits agency is in your local 'phone book, if you don't mind the wait. Good luck
As the above says, it depends on your own contract of employment as to whether your employer pays you whilst you are sick. Many companies will have a maximum number of days over one year at full pay then some more at say half-pay. Its entirely between the employer and its staff.
