i can't get my niece a birthday present

'cus i've no idea what to get her! she's will be 5, she's got everything and is just about to start reception class.
Any ideas?

For my eldest niece's 5th birthday I took her out for lunch to a cafe of her choice, then to the Chinese State Circus - went down a treat - loads of sparkly costumes and clowns and tat. For the littlest one's 5th, I took her to lunch at a different cafe of her choice, to the pottery painting studio in town and then to see The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe at the cinema. Don't know if that's any help - my nieces love what they called 'not wrapped' presents (like treat days out). We do it often. Both of them like the fact that they have something to remember and not just another bit of plastic tat to clutter up a bedroom.

maybe combine the two answers above...take her on a lovely day out...and take lots of photos...then put them in an album for her to keep, and include ticket stubs/bits collected through the day.

taking her out would great, except we don't live near each other. She does love her books though. Mmm, that would probably be best. cheers guys x

actually, ive just remembered seeing a digital camera for kids in Asda - might get her that too, with a pretty photo frame/album x

you can get personalised books on-line.

I made one for my neice, wrote her a story, printed it out laminated it (she's 2) and bound it together with my new binding machine (which I broke). It wasn't really cost effective - but I had fun.
