Have finished todays crossword but I don't fully understand two of the answers, although fairly certain they are correct.
I would be really grateful if somebody could fully explain them for me, to give me 'peace of mind'!!
21a Calm girl's endless charm (6) -I-P-L (Dispel)?
27a Get on seat gripping bits of trace (8) -T-A-D-E (Straddle)?

21 a Di= girl ..endless charm =.spell ..without the last letter so it's endless.

can only think that the girl is DI and endless charm is SPEL(L)
no idea how he gets straddle though !

Sarumite to elaborate on Straddle.

Seat= Saddle.....Gripping (inside) bit of trace= TR

S TR ADDLE= Get on
