I occasionally watch this show if there is nothing else on, and like the format. Is it just me,or do others watch this type of show to see certain contestants lose rather than win? Not everybody, you understand. Just those (like Vaughan yesterday) who seem to have an arrogance about them. I almost cheered when he missed out on the big prizes. Or am I just a sad case?

I watch it because I love the way Noel Edmonds builds his part, and that of the contestant. Claiming that he admires the way the contestant is playing the game..!? What's that all about? The contestant is randomly picking boxes - there's no logic to a game of pure chance. It's Noels Last chance to make it big like Chris Tarrant has with "Milionaire" Unfortunately the show is Rubbish.
I also think its a good game, and i know where your coming from with the want them to lose thing. My hubby sits there and cheers when the big numbers have gone. I think it is very strange when they say they have a game plan!!
ha ha ha , i thought exactly the same, i also hate the way he speaks about the banker, "oooh, he is angry" or "oooh he likes you"
I watch it every day and enter the viewers competition which is free on line.
I don't watch this, but I have done that with other shows. I remember a millionaire episode where this guy was really cocky and I just took an instant dislike. He got on to a big money question where if he got it wrong he dropped, and oh how I laughed when he got it wrong because he was so adamant he had the right answer.

generally i want them to win, but when you get an arrogant fool who thinks he's got it sussed you pray for them to be taken down a peg or two.

even noel has confessed that he has disliked one or two contestans because of their cockyness.

I think its funny when he say amounts like 5 grand is a huge sum or 20 grand is life changing - which it is to some people - but when he charges 20 grand just to turn up somewhere for a few hours, and its piffling small change to him, its hard to believe his forced sincerity

Well said joko............the whole game would be a lot more interesting if there was a degree of skill required. You'd be as well tossing a coin, but it is nice to see the cocky ones knocked down.
At the same time 5000 could well be enough to change someone's life but as with all gambling, if you can't afford to lose...don't play.

ianness - 5000 would certainly change my life! I could get a car and afford to send my showreel out to everyone instead of having to be choosy, and therfore i would get more work and it would generate more money for me.

i could afford a regular osteopath for my degenerative spine condition, and therefore feel great

but 100,000 would be life-changing. new house or start a business perhaps...

what is weird though, is i feel there is a difference between "life-changing" and "changing your life"

How is that? the words are the same! but for some reason they seem different! weird 'eh?
