I used to sell some stuff that I no longer used but which was in good condition for between £10 and £20.
I last sold something about a year ago and this week listed a couple of items. After two days not only had I not received any bids but I hadn't even had any views. I had a look at similar items that others were selling and it was the same.
It then occurred to me that I hadn't bought anything from ebay for ages. Usually I've been buying either from a real shop or Amazon .
Is this the experience of others?

I occasionally buy from dealers through eBay but must be several years since I've bid in any auctions.
I mainly use it to buy new stuff after price comparisons with Amazon etc. Not sold anything on there for years.
We still buy clothes from eBay, not new ones, and I still check it for other things before buying.
Sometimes new items are cheaper than Amazon but I do think there is less interest than there used to be.
I stopped selling on eBay a few years ago.
I prefer to but from ebay uk than amazon. We probably buy mainly new items 2/3 times a week, sometimes more. Their customer service is excellent too if there is ever a problem and a real person gives you a call back within a minute of using the help robot.
eBay has moved away from being purely an auction site to become an alternative to Amazon for people seeking out new items. (80% of eBay sales now come from new goods). So many of the people visiting the site automatically click the 'New' filter when commencing their searches.

Changes to eBay's payments system for sellers, eliminating PayPal and insisting upon having sellers' bank details, haven't got down well with everyone. At the same time there has been a very big rise in the popularity of sites that don't charge sellers anything at all for advertising their items. For clothing, Vinted is probably the market leader, with Shpock being the most popular for other types of sales, but with Depop and others doing well too.

For finding local buyers for items, Facebook Marketplace is now incredibly popular, as neither the seller not the buyer have to pay any fees.

So, although eBay most definitely isn't in its death throws, it's now up against much tougher opposition than it was in years gone by.
I don't use it any more. DIL had an ebay shop, but has moved away from ebay to her own shop because of how ebay now operates. I use Amazon a lot.
EBay dying , AB dying?
No, just a blip, tell me some good news
At the moment I use eBay to buy houseplants and cuttings. I'll also get things like supplements, nail varnish, makeup. But I'll also go on Amazon for those. I've bought lots of clothing...second-hand...but not recently. Also winter boots.
Its not dying its evolving, ebay that is. its tryng to be more like Amazon instead of an auction site that regular people can buy and sell their unwanted items. Unfortunately for Ebay there are free Apps available now to do just that. Ebay takes around 10% commission when you can sell on Vinted for free.
Dying? Absolutely not!
My first point of call in any purchase I’m considering.
The options to make Best Offers, Reserve prices etc for sellers still makes it number one in my book.
I buy from eBay most weeks as I can nearly always find what I'm after and more often than not they offer free postage.
I’m a relatively newbie to E-Bay so not too familiar with the auction thing, but recently bought some new Shoes and Jeans which I’m happy with much better than traipsing around the shops (I hate shopping) so will be using it more often than I ever thought I would.
Still use it to buy now and again, and also you can get a good idea of prices if you have something in mind before buying nearer to home.
Not used it very often but it had its uses for certain items. I always used Paypal when buying there, but since I have now binned Paypal I will not be using ebay either.
It is a pain to sell on Ebay and they charge a lot. Items should be selling now after the holidays except for summer stuff
