yesterday I picked up my sister as usual - she was fine when I got into house but within moments - she was struggling to speak. She wanted to say words but ah, uh was coming out. This went on for 10 minutes until her and I got home then she became find - thank God.

Was this a mini stroke etc. Thanks for any answers. She is due to get cataract off in about 3 weeks ago and while she is faffing it off - I think underneath she is nervous.

She wants to do this alone too ie go down to hospital - hospital transportation has been arranged for her to go and back.

I said - well I'll be in your house to make you a cuppa etc - what do I need you for . I can put my own drops in etc.

Sorry for being long-winded. But yesterday frightened me a bit.

JJ, from the short description of the symptoms that you describe exhibited by your sister, I think that it is unlikely that she suffered from a ministroke.
One would have expected a little more such as weakness of the arms or legs or perhaps a slight asymmetry or paralysis of her face.

I cannot come up with a diagnosis but a ministroke is extremely unlikely.

ok - thanks Sqad - she has diabetes and so perhaps that may have been the problem. maybe her sugars went too low. I'm just glad it wasn't the other. She was upset herself. Thanks again for answering. It was Mother's Day yesterday too and as she has lost her only child maybe underneath she was feeling it.
JJ...your presumed diagnosis of a low blood sugar is certainly a good shout as she is a diabetic.
