morning, Friday already, end of the working week for some. I hope that you are all as well as can be, and that your day is a good one.

Do you have any plans for the day?

Good morning, emmie, it must be officially morning because all my antique clocks just struck 12 times:) We're back in the deep freeze here at -29, so I think I'll stay home today. I did a small grocery shopping today, and my sister will bring me more items on Saturday.

When i said "today" I meant Thursday.

i understand, i do get confused with the different time/day zones.

Remember the other night when I mentioned that when it gets this cold the structural-steel I-beams in the building contract with a sound that sounds like a gun-shot? Well it just happened and I sort of jumped and spilled some coffee...I kid you not, the sounds are quite loud!

i get that when it gets warm here and the wood cabinets and panelling on the walls contract and it makes a cracking sound, very weird.

must be quite frightening at times when that happens sanmac.

-29 that's way to cold for my liking, we moan if it gets to a - 1 or 2
when will your weather start to improve..

Yes, when some materials become heated there is a resulting sound, but that's caused by expansion not contraction, and you're right, it can be quite startling...It sounds like we're back in a high-school physics class:)

I never did a physics class, wasn't that clever...

I've forgotten most of what I learned in physics, I guess what's of more importance is what you learn after your school days. In general, our weather becomes more tolerable in late March and early April. And that won't be too long coming seeing as how the the older you get the faster time zooms by!

it does whizz by, we are three quarters of the way through Jan, soon be february, then march, hopefully into lighter days and warmer weather.

We haven't heard from 1ozzy lately. I expect that he's busily extracting some of that high-grade opal that they have down-under.

no we haven't, i wonder if he's busy working at Mrs Steptoe's shop and doesn't have the time to look in.

what high grade opal???

Opal is a gem, and like diamonds has different grades, the higher the better. Australia is the world's main source of opal, and I wouldn't be surprised if Mrs Steptoes store was located right on top of a active opal mine:)

you jest i think, Mrs Steptoe runs an antique/junk store, and if opals had been found there she would know...

1ozzy phone perhaps has stopped working, it's why he's not posting, or he has other/better things to do than be on here.
