You need to think a tad more, after a break from thinking, before you post your question.
Because you usually answer them yourself ;-/

It's not the normal way AB works, I'm sure, but Alphapuzzles aren't regular crosswords. As I've said before, there's no information about either the length, or the location of the clue in the grid. As a result, it's not at all easy to try out possible answers as you virtually have to do the entire puzzle to do so.
Sometimes, I get stuck or am short of time & just ask for suggestions but normally post the answer only after I have verified that it works. The idea is to help out people who like to do the puzzle but can't, or don't want to, break the clue. They still have to find out where the answer fits into the grid, which is not always straightforward, and then complete the rest of the grid. (The setters have a number of tricks they use to confuse the puzzlers, so that can be a challenge in its own right.)
Later in the day, mouseymick usually pops up & provides info for those who have fallen at the first fence & can't find where to put the answer to the cryptic clue.
Dummyfluter's confirmation and explanation usually help too
Aplomb

As explained , with aplomb , by Satprof
There was no real explanation given today Dummyfluter as maybe it was considered obvious but it is that aplomb (calmness) sounds like (say) "a plum" (a fruit)
Doesn't really, does it?
plom/plum- I agree Spicerack but alphapuzzle, like RTE, often doesn't always follow the usual rules for things like soundslike or anagram indicators. But it's got its fans
Aplomb ... 21,12,13,4,15,18 ... Q is 17
