I Don't Get It

May have missed a post that explains this, but how do they come by the reported cases of the virus they give out for the UK each day, Is this the amount that have been tested by the hospital only, I know they say there could be lots that have it, or is it a combination of people reporting the signs to their local doctor, or a combination of tested and admitted to hospital, we are not getting admission numbers.

they're not testing now except in hospital. This sounds like a bad move if they really want to know how the virus is spreading, but they might change it
