It clearly states on the quiz not to ask these questions on AB or any other web site. Why can’t you do that?
2. The Butcher bird.
Oops!
It also says if the setter knows who they are their quiz won't be marked and that they had almost stopped setting the quiz because so many were asked last time. So many setters are giving in these days and that's a shame

I hadn’t,t read the note to say no questions. Sorry but I thought that was what Answerbank was for.
In this instance it doesn’t matter what AB is for, the rules of the quiz say no asking. You’ve ignored this 6 times, yes that’s how many threads you’ve created for this quiz alone.

OK Angie 55. I take your point. Sorry.
You say you hadn't read the note on the quiz sheet saying to not ask for help. But that was also pointed out to you on each of your previous threads including by the quiz setter herself. So are you also claiming that you don't read the replies to your questions?
Point has now been taken and apology given.
Its OK apologising when you have been given the answers.
This is a question and answer site. If people don't like questions being asked and answered then they should stay off the site. Ed has explained the preferred procedures, and we should comply with them - this also concerns not deterring askers from asking questions here which Ed said would not be tolerated.

Angie55, Smouse, Pulse and a few others are not adhering to what Ed requested.
jj109 - the fact that this is a question and answer site is not relevant in this case. zac21 has chosen to buy a quiz which clearly states to not ask for any help on internet sites. It is the prerogative of the quiz setter to set whatever rules he/she likes and anyone buying the quiz should abide by those rules. Hence no questions from that quiz should be asked on sites like this. If anyone doesn't like those rules they should not buy the quiz rather than buy it and decide to flout those rules.

Or do you believe that people should ignore the rules of the quiz? And if so why do you believe that to be reasonable?
This is a genuine question- once people have paid for the quiz, how does the setter lose out if answers are given online?
The quiz rules are not relevant to this site. Take that up with the compiler of the quiz. The rules and recommendations of this site are what you should be concerned with when posting on here.
Isn't the whole point of creating a quiz is to raise money for a charity? Therefore the more people that enter the more money raised. Irrespective of how many enter there are just a few winners so it isn't a case of the more people who complete the quiz the less money available for the charity but the opposite. So why the objection to where people get their answers from, so long as they buy and enter the quiz; surely it's irrelevant how they arrived at the answer, or am I missing something?
I think I am too, Vulcan. It seems to be self-defeating to deny internet use, which is probably also the best way of advertising.
Quite right vulcan - If someone asks around amongst friends and relatives, that is exactly the same as asking on here. I simply do not believe that the number of sales will be reduced, I believe more people will see it here and probably this will lead to more copies sold - the purpose of the quiz surely
The bit you are missing is that the majority of the people who answer on here have not bought the quiz so the charity is already losing outas in a way they are quizzing for free. Saying they help other charities is not the point. Surely a quiz setter can say do not ask it and the Ed has said we are allowed to point out when it says no asking or clues only which is what Angie55 did. Maybe Zac21 would like to email the setter and see if they think it is OK to be ignored
Not necessarily, smouse. People are more likely to buy a quiz if they are aware it exists. It's good advertising.
This is a regular recurring debate on here and as always the two sides don't see things the same, the setters - some of whom are packing in or adding extra guidelines are the ones that know the reality.

The internet is indeed a very useful tool for quizzers, but to research, hunt through lists etc.
