Since the Mail have stopped doing their own points, they want everyone to register for a Nectar card, but I don't want to start receiving mountains of junk mail, as they have so many 'partners'. Has anyone recentlyopened a Nectar account, and have you been bothered with lots of offers through the post?

I don't collect them but there isa comp in today's Mail to win 1,000,000 points.
I have had a nectar card for years vis Sainsbury’s and no unsolicited mail - but I can’t vouch for this via other/ more recent signups

Er, yes, Danny, did notice that.... :)
I've also had a card for years...free of unsolicited junk.
I opened a Nectar account but was really annoyed at the questions they asked as I thought they were intrusive so I was a bit economical with the truth. Put down a miniscule income, no car, no children, no pets, no savings, no garden etc. Can't remember if there was a box to tick for no contact but I would have ticked it. Never had anything through the post apart from the card itself and just the odd email which you can unsubscribe if you wish.

Thanks, Bakers - I didn't like the intrusive questions either. Think if I do sign up I might use a 'throwaway' email address; def won't do it if they require a phone number.
If they want a phone number just put n/a in the box.
For a brief time I was a supervisor at the Nectar call centre. Waste of time and energy. I only used mine at Sainsbury's where currently you get 1 point (=1/2p) for every £ spent. Not worth the effort and one less piece of plastic I have to carry.
I get nectar points with eBay purchases. There are lots of other retailers including Argos that give you points. They do add up.
