There is somebody trying to kill a set of bagpipes outside in the street. I think that the bagpipes are fighting back as every so often the screaming stops - only for it to start all over again.

In the right situation and at the right time bagpipes can sound almost musical.

The noise may drive me insane !

Because it is harder to hit a moving target.

I had problems locating the direction of the noise/music. It has stopped now and all is peaceful.

Bagpipes always sound to me like a tom cat having his testicles trodden on.

They should stay north of the border as far as I am concerned.

Wolfie...Scotland is a beautiful place but can be infested with ruddy bagpipes far too much at times.

Nothing wrong with the bagpipes! My dad used to play them in a band used to spend many weekends going to watch them play and this was in England!

I actually like bagpipe music! When I was a teenager living just across the river from Saltaire (W. Yorkshire) there was a pipe band used to rehearse in the Congs. (Congregational church). The sound used to float up the hill, so I got very used to it and, as I say, I now enjoy it. There was a pipe band used to visit Confolens, in France , every summer for the international music festiva and it went down well.

I think the pipes are bit like the violin in that if played well they can sound sublime and if played badly they can sound excruciating.

All instruments sound excruciating when being 'played' by a novice. I drove my mum and dad mad when I used to 'play' Skip To My Lou' on my guitar.
