Hi b b

I've gone for shyness I don't think slyness is reverse of cunning

Not too sure b b, but to me looks as though it should be shyness. kaz.
I'm stuck on 11a across can you help

I reckon it is slyness for the following logic:

'to get ship into river's the reverse of'   implies
get river's into ship.  As you say, ship is SS
There is a river Lyne in Cumbria so river's = LYNES
 = S LYNES S

whole answer means cunning.
