Had this really painful headache for about 10 days now. Starts at the base of the skull, comes over to the back of the eyes.
On moaning about it, I have been told there is a virus (?) going about, surely you can't get a headache session from a virus?
Getting a bit cheesed with it now. Anyone heard of such a thing currently? TIA.

Would have thought that your headache would have been associated with temperature if it had been viral....and a cough or other joint symptoms.

I don't know much about your past medical history or what medications that you have taken to relieve your pain...e.g Ibuprofen or Paracetamol.

However.....without the above data and assessing the commonest cause of this symptom, my guess would be that it was coming from your cervical spine (neck) and the cause may well be some arthritic (old age) changes.

Cough is present Squad, and wanting to clear throat, no temperature. 800mg of iibruprofen taking an age to relieve, and relief not lasting more than 2/3 hours.
Think I will see GP as currently I have been reducing Valsartan from 80mg, to 40mg and then to 40mg every other day, on GP instructions. GP was ridiculously low.
(Not denying old age either ;) )
