10a Do followers initially take orders? (5)
I'm sure the answer is REMIT, but can't see why (except I know a remit can be to give orders). Where does 'Do' and 'followers' come into play?

Thanks mac44. I think I must have a blind spot on this one! I get the "T" as the initial letter of "take"; but am still at a loss where the "RE" and "MI" comes from. I assume that "Do" indicates an anagram.
