Oh dear.

Why oh dear? A clear sign that the weeding process is working. It would have been fairly easy to tell that Serwokta was and never has been a Labour supporter. It was pretty dim witted of him to even try considering voting in this election considering his political allegiance is in the public domain.

// Serwotka was a member of Socialist Organiser in the late 1980s and early 1990s. He was later a supporter of the Socialist Alliance and then Respect. //

hang on he's a Socialist union leader F.F.S. grass roots Labour stock!

I am listening to this and feeling very depressed
To paraphrase your link material...
Serwotka’s union, the PCS, is not affiliated to the Labour Party and is part of a coalition which stood against Labour at the general election. He voted for the Green Party in 2010 and said, “Labour doesn't speak for me."
It sounds to me as if he has even less right to participate in a Labour leadership election than you have, TTT!
The link material I referred to above was the material in the OP, not the one in RR's contribution.
Question Author
Well thanks for the endorsement QM!, fair enough, I thought all union people were Labour by default.
Oh no TTT
My colleague is a union member and tory too!
Oh the 'discussions' we have on the subject
How many threads is this you have started on the leadership contest?
You seem obsessed.

Apparently, you should have received your voting papers no later than Monday 24th August. Seems likely you have been black balled Tora.

I have Voted dear Gromit, I'm raising these as a service to my Labour friends on here who lately have inexplicably been missing these stories. Oh and having enormous fun into the bargain.
/// Labour said it would not comment on individual cases but said people "who don't share aims of values of the Labour party don't get a vote". ///

Oh dear, there's democracy for you.

You think people who do not vote for or support the Labour Party should decide the leader? - and that would demonstrate democracy at work?
Gromit

Did you criticise Mikey in such a way on the run up to the May elections?

Funnily enough, where is Mikey?
Gromit

/// You think people who do not vote for or support the Labour Party should decide the leader? - and that would demonstrate democracy at work? ///

This is not about all that, it is all because of Labour's battle between the left and the right of the party.

*** The new system, which among other things made union members who want a vote in leadership contests sign up as affiliated supporters, was introduced last year by previous Labour leader Ed Miliband. ***
// Did you criticise Mikey in such a way on the run up to the May elections? //

As a matter of fact I did.

haha post crossed AOG
This is Leftybank. We only want threads about Bullingdon Bullies and Nigel Farago. If you don't fit in, we'll send you to N.Korea to acquire the correct opinions.

How do you know if you've been rejected, are you named and shamed on a Leftie billboard in the Town centre, or do you get a Thanks but no thanks note in the Post?
Badric, the email goes something like this...

// Thanks for your non-refundable donation to the Labour Party, we appreciate it. Your vote has not been counted because ypu voted for Corbyn and we don't want him to win. We hope you enjoy your stay with the Labour Party, love Harriet x x x //
