Some of my older friends appear to be confused by the new trend for Gender Neutral labelling of toys.

"PC rubbish - the world's gone mad" is a common complaint.

To help them in their bemusement, I've found a simple flow chart to determine if a toy is for boys or girls :

LoL.....
Just watch the complaints come in that blurring the lines of 'gender-appropriate' toys will alter a child's innate sexuality.

Is this a 'joke' I'm not 'getting'?

What kind of 'toys' did you play with?
Can anyone answer that, Svejk?

The toys I remember from when I was little...wooden blocks, car tracks, weeble wobbles, arty stuff. The rest were outside toys. Bikes, pogo sticks, roller skates, skate boards..etc. Not a doll in sight from my childhood.

Whereas my sons loved playing with their sisters barbie's and polly pockets :-)
Love it!
Perhaps if more girls had been given Meccano sets in the 1950's when I was growing up, we would have more women engineers, etc now ?
I put Barbie back into the toy closet and came back out with the much more appealing Ken.
But he wasn't anatomically correct Stuey !
After I'd used my tool kit, Mikey, he certainly was.
And, of course, I got to use some left over plasticine.
LOL !
Now I think I'll go back to playing with my clocks. Yesterday I picked up an Ansonia ginger bread "Arctic" model mantle clock made around 1882 to "play" with. A deal at only $25!
Did someone mention Mexican .....'...grrrrrr .brother would never let me have a go with his sets..
That was meccano but kindle changed it .
Here's a picture of the clock after removing the hands and dial, but prior to taking the movement out for inspecting. The case is in great condition for such an old clock, but look at that dirt on the movement! http://i59.tinypic.com/2vht3kj.jpg
Stuey you are just about spot on with the dating I think. Very 'Arts & Craft movement which was filtering into the USA mid 1880's
He knew you were going to make a pram or a cradle nanny. We all know meccano is for bridges, spitfires, cranes, or ferris wheels that actually work.
