I can only find Norwich, believe it or not, with 25 churches mentioned in the Doomsday Book - but surely that can't be right?
I'm intriqued so are there any historically minder clerics about?
Norwich.

I visited the city earlier in the year and the number of churches is remarkable, founded on the wealth when East Anglia was the powerhouse of the UK in manufacturing wool cloth that went east.

Inside the Cathedral, we asked how many, a 90 year old woman with one tooth. "There are 52 churches, one for every week of the year and 365 pubs, one for every day of the year." "And I bet you have had a drink in every one?" A cackle and "Oh yes....."
Blimey so I was right. Thanks for the confirmation guys.
you're welcome capt'n ;-)
