Not long ago, Nimrod suggested a scale of 1-5 for difficulty.
Maybe there should also be a scale for 'enjoyability'.

This setter ('eck) is new to me, but I would rate this puzzle 3/5 (difficulty/enjoyability).

Probably 3 but am I looking for a quote from M2?
Question Author
From MT, yes
Boreas, like you I'd have rated this as 3/5. There's a breakdown/analysis of all last year's Inquisitors on fifteensquared - it's interesting stuff.
Question Author
Thanks Never. Just had a quick look - and I see they use a rating for enjoyment.
Question Author
Naomirod,

I've only just "got" M2.
Never come across that shorthand before.
Yes Boreas, very clever of me but still can't find a quote to fill 38 cells so that's me scuppered!
The quote's in the Oxford Dictionary of Quotations - I think you can have a 'quick look' online if you don't have a copy.

Look away if you don't want to know . . . ................................................................................

................................................................................
the quote starts at the second letter of 10A.
Thankyou Boreas.I havn't won the Inquisitor for many years but have won the one in the paper again this week.I won 3 sodding times last year so if you can find a use for the oxford dictionary- thesaurus its yours! The thing is, I don't even think its the one the compilers use.
Question Author
Thank you Naomirod - and well done.
I never submit entries as I always think the odds are too long, so your record is very impressive.
I wonder why the OED is often a prize, when Chambers is more or less the standard ref?
