Tomsons seems the better choice.
TOMS = tom-tom drum (according to my dictionary, toms is an acceptable form of tom-tom).
ON S = on South.
=TOMSONS.
Is there a Store called Tomsons ?
I think Thomson more likely with the addition of Perhaps in the clue ??
or Thomsons although the Travel Agent is just Thomson

Thompson holidays ??
Think they have spelled the company incorrectly Bookbinder most probably

I'm sure your're right, emeritus, but that means - in my opinion - that the clue is not very well written.
I agree Bookbinder. If Quinie is on the right track the clue looks to lead to a plural

Thank you all for your input. I think Thompsons might be the answer as the setter has added "perhaps". I've been thinking of other words for drums but none fit. Sorry for the delay in answering.
