Inspired by another post, have you ever seen your parents drunk or got drunk with your parents?

Yes, but only my Father and yes, quite a few times.

My mum, never, my dad too many times to count. I've also got drunk with him on plenty of occasions :-)

My dad is a really nice drunk though, he just gets really funny.

My nan liked a drink...she was also a really funny drunk. She used to come upstairs from the bar and do silly dances.

*this wasn't on a very regular basis!

My mum used to regularly be drunk when I was a kid. I can remember her making me drink cherry brandy and apricot brandy when I was about 8 years old, she and her friends then laughed at my antics until I threw up all over the place.

No. Neither have I ever seen my parents quarrel or said a harsh word to each other. My dad has passed so I know I'll never see that.

My father only once when I was about twelve. He tried to screw the mirror on a new bathroom cabinet and cracked the glass.....he never heard the last of it.
My mother never until I was in my thirties and she and my ex MIL came to visit me in Canada. Both took a liking to Pina Colada while in a restaurant and I didn't think to watch how many drinks these two almost teetotalers were supping.....they were both plastered and staggered out singing Irish Rebel Songs but swore it was "something we ate."

Daffy, now i understand your comments on the other thread. I thought you must have had a bad experience and I'm sorry for that.

No I have never seem any member of my family or extended family drunk. it was not 'the done thing'. I think any drinking to excess was done well after nanny had taken the children up for the night.

We went to Ireland recently with the MIL, we got her steaming twice :-)

my dad got squiffy accidentally drinking alcopop lemonade when it first came out, we couldn't stop laughing, including him!

I get drunk with my mum sometimes, I've seen my dad drunk many moons ago but he doesn't really drink too much now.

Not my parents, but my nan liked a tipple and was a bit of a girl in her day.
Let's just say she thoroughly enjoyed the war

No, never, though neither forswore alcohol and both would drink socially. That I became an alcoholic in later life was a shock to my widowed mother !

My mum was an alcoholic so yes, saw her steaming plenty of times, my dad I saw drunk very occasionally, but he was a lovely drunk.

I've seen my dad drunk twice. It was not a nice thing to witness at the time.

I've seen my mother squiffy but not holleringly drunk and never seen my father drunk because he had a massive drink problem when he was younger and won't over do it now. My Mum's boyfriend I have seen roaring a couple of times but he's generally a very nice drunk.
