Cryptic Quiz Quesion

I'm having trouble getting into a cryptic clue. Th answer is a card game (e.g. poker, whist, bridge etc.).

The clue is "Vetting return of what one's lost. All confused now?".

Any ideas?

Thanks! I can see the first bit is an anagram but not how the "return of what one's lost" works.

Nor me but I cannot think of another card game that would fit the vetting part of the clue
