Late 80s/early 90s spooky kids drama!

Can any one remember a drama on tv about a girl being haunted by a ghost who may have been a sailor or soldier. There is very little I actually remember about this show but i do recall a ships figure head coming to life (scary) and the girl throwing a skull in to the ghost at the very end shouting "rest in peace..." ah if only i could remeber the ghosts name.

hi it was the the watchHOUSE not tower.it was a 3 parter on cbbc in the late 80s.i watched it only yesterday cos i bought the series off ebay.its still quite chilling but the acting is crap!hope this helps.the gas was scobie haig
