MM Links August 2012 Week 1

This is your setter for the month and while I go by the name of seekeerz most of the time, my regal nom de plume for August will be Queen Hatshepsut
Hatty was a very spunky lady and like most women, quite capable of changing her mind, just like me !!
And talking of changeable, the next best thing is the weather !! I know - one subject that's done to death, but how much does it impact on our daily lives.
Just look at London and the Games - are the organisers keeping their fingers crossed or praying to little gods that it all goes well
Now I'm running late and people will panic so I'd better hit submit

Oh dear, that did not quite go according to plan - my beautifully prepared preamble got lost somewhere in cyberspace and my brain froze !!
Ok one thing I'll say at this point is that there's very little likelihood of any hints in what I threw together, so that's one clue for you all.
According to normal practice for the everyday running of MM, I shall follow this rule on word length, in that each of my pre-selected link words contains at least four letters and at most eight letters. Stray outside this range and you will be wasting one of your attempts,
Each of the selected link words may go in front of or behind the challenge word to make a new longer word or to make a well-known phrase or saying
The combination will never be a person's name
The competition will officially close on Sunday evening at 7.00pm when I will declare my pre-selected words and then apply the same rules for awarding points that have been applied during all MM Link Games in the past
My set of four words to have their links predicted should appear below at 9.00am
