Am I the only person that likes faggots? They look horrible but taste lovely with gravy and chips .

Horrid nasty things full of sawdust and sage.
.....you gotta have 'em with pease pudding!!!
I love them too tasty filling!!
I would rather eat my own arm!
Got to be proper faggots; not big mince balls. Wonderful with pease pudding, mash and gravy. (I'm getting hungry just at the thought!)
I have only every bought Mr Brains faggots once and to my horror found a whole golf tee in one.  I wrote to the manufacturer and complained.  They said that it must have got there during the production process.  I personally think the cow swallowed it and it was processed into a faggot only with the stomach lining!  Anyway, sufficient to say I found it very off putting and through the vouchers for free packets that was sent me in the bin.  If you like these, you would probably find decent Waitrose aberdeen angus meatballs in a rich sauce wonderful!
I'll buy them from the supermarket and eat them but only when the butchers is closed and I can't buy any proper food like tripe, pigs trotters or sheep brains.
Oh yuck, the thought of what is in the makes me spew...

Used to but the name ...Mr BRAINS... put me off.

Are they telling us summat?

There used to be a butcher in Baldock that made the most delicious faggots and would sell them straight from the premises steaming hot.  This thread has just reminded me how lovely they were.  This was back in the 70's so I doubt the butcher still remains.
