Also I know a DEUDDARN is a Welsh cupboard, but can it also be used to describe a carved bracket?

The intricate carved bracket offering support is a Misericord.

You will be able to do this charity puzzle better if you have a Chambers Dictionary to hand.

tanks brokenbank. I'd already got "misericord" for the following answer, and now realise what the answer is to the previous clue.
It's not easy to work out when one clue finishes and the next clue starts but don't worry. This year's puzzle is quite easy compared with some in previous years.
