We still have a store of old floppy disks that we would like to access on occasion. I have an external floppy drive (from Dell) with a USB connection. However, on Windows 7 it isn't recognised. I'm assuming I need to download a driver for this. Any ideas how to find such a beast?

Check here .. BTBH it would be better asking a friend with internal floppy to extract and save files to an email for you!

Thanks AlBags. I suddenly had a brainwave - what about device manager? Had a look, it checked out and all solved. Sorry to have wasted your time - and feel a fool for not doing this straight away!
No worries then!
