My sister took the trouble to learn Spanish and went to live in Cuba for 6 years, where she found that they spoke a vernacular, 'slang' Spanish and had to learn all over again! Her boyfriend was also there 6 years and hardly learnt a word. lazy get. He just relied on her. Yawn!
