Steptoe and son, I'm old hat!!
I love Last Of The Summer Wine best.
And what about Ab Fab, nobody's mentioned that! Loved it in its day.
I've never laughed so much, as I did at Fawlty Towers! I still laught at repeats...
Why has no-one else even mentioned The Good Life which was just brilliant.
Has anyone mentioned League of Gentlemen?

What sets Fawlty, Father Ted and Blackadder apart from most of the rest for me is that virtually every line of every episode is a classic. There’s very little wasted. And I can watch them over and over. LoG comes quite close in my opinion.
It’s whatever makes you laugh I suppose is good.
For me it would have to be Early Doors
For being shown most on terrestial television in must be Dad's Army by a country mile
Last of The Summer Wine is the least funny "comedy" show in the history of television. Absolute garbage.
Last of the Summer Wine is one of my favourites.
Oh come on everyone, it's a tie between Bottom and Peep Show.
Now if we're talking vintage, I remember fondly a string of unconnected comedies about the house! Bless this House, Man about the House, and Doctor in the House!
I watched Faulty Towers as a kid but I wouldn't call it the greatest. I thought most polls go for Only Fools as top ranked sitcom.

My faves are Blackadder, Red Dwarf, Keeping up Appearances, Ab Fab and Miranda.
I loved keeping up appearances (my mother in law was a hyacinth) lol x
I still laugh at Fawlty Towers, but Only Fools and Horses is second to none for me. Brilliantly written and brilliantly performed.
It Ain't Half Hot, Last Of The Summer Wine, Are You Being Served, Father Ted, Hi De Hi and Dad's Army. None have ever caused me to even smile, let alone laugh.
only fools and horses when del fell in the wine bar was hilarious as was the david beckhams comic relief sketch x
