Have cleaned all the drains and they are sparkling and clear - have cut the lawns, have clipped part of the hedge and put up dog proofing all along the bottom of it - very prickly hawthorn hedge with lots of nettles growing up - am scratched, stung and my shoulder aches. Pretty please to a glass of my favourite?

you are all most kind - have poured for mccluff - it is breathing as we speak and have sent out for a selection of white and half a jack of gin for Tinks (that'll be enough won't it?) and very good health to yobanfa and Euphemia.
Ed my favourite Merlot is the one I happened to have uncorked at any one time - this particular one is "gracefully balanced with robust flavours of blackberry, plum and red cherry, softened by a hint (no more no less!) of vanilla" and you are very welcome to a glass.

Not great, had to get the death certificate today, go to hubby's bank, make an appointment with the vicar for monday, fill in benefit forms, order flowers, ring the garage about the car which is halfway through being repaired. Now got the weekend to sort out the service. I could really do with a vodka!

not a good place to be in right now - and I expect you will be sorting out what's going to be said at the service - I got a huge amount of comfort doing this because it all stopped being about me (for a while) and let me focus on how lucky I'd been. I know from previous posts this has been a big thing for you, you've mention so sincerely how lucky you've been - I really hope it helps you too. Anyway, am sending a double voddy and tonic and cyber hugs.

there you go Jan - Great idea about all the FB and AB posts, shows you are a glass half full and not a glass half empty person. Honestly, there is very little anyone can say at a time like this but I hope it helps to know you have lots of cyber friends pulling out the stops for you xC

You can have a whole bottle if you want pet!! First a nice soak in the bath, soft lights and music playing with some revitalising mineral salts in the water, then an all-over body massage with essential oils, then you can relax, feet up, soft towelling robe on, head in a towelling turban, with a tray of some nice nibbly things and a glass or three of what you fancy. Remote control in your hand to the big screen Tv to watch your fav movie, how does that sound?

Incidently, Did you know, the word 'Merlot' came from Old French for young blackbird? the diminuative, merle, blackbird, probably from the colour of the grape.
