Can anyone give me help with questions 13, 39, 40, 46, 48 and 50 in this months GBQ 134, I am really stuck. I am hoping to post it off before going on holiday. Any help will be much appreciated.

Are you still looking for answers. I can help with 13, 39 or 46 but am still searching for the others. I haven't got 26 so would be happy to swap for this answer. I do the whole quiz so do not compete with those who do the first 50.
Re question 26  - try international vehicle registrations.  Any help with numbers 27, 31, and 40 would be appreciated.

31 = 386 (1666-1280)

Willing to swap others for help with 48 and 50

The question 50 is not so much cryptic but "artful".  He was a many times married jazz musician.  His surname is a play on the word "sure".  To make it easier, concentrate on a member of Jerome Kern's family.  Help is also required for 48.
Thanks. I'm still looking for 48 too. For Q27 search for the famous actor who played a famous king, caused a mutiny and then got the "hump".
