I need to remove cats which sit under a tree in my garden and frighten the birds. What can I put out that will make it sick and hopefully persuade the owners not to let them out?

A very big dog, it will be as sick as a parrot
Why not just poison the birds, the cat won't bother you then

Hi Toxophilus You can buy products for keeping cats away I can't remember the
name will probably be in supermarket or hardware shops I know what you mean .
Apparently if you fill empty bottles with water and leave them lying around the garden (and this is not a joke)
grasscarp- are you referring to tales that cats sometimes put their heads inside a bottle (they can do this) but then can't get them out, presumably because their ears get stuck.
No factor30. I thought it was to do with the fact cats dont like water. I googled and saw this
Wanna hear a cool way the Japanese deal with this? They fill up Clear rectangular drink bottles with water and line them up where the cats pee. They said that the lights refracting from these bottles made the cats not want to go there. I saw tons of these water filled bottles in Kyoto so they must work!
The bottles should have as many angles as possible so the "ribbed" bottles work best. In Japan, I think water comes in this size and shape, but there must be some drink like this in your neck of the woods.

My very grateful thanks to all of you who responded and tried to help me.

I have also been told that a bottle of men's pee, frequently scattered around is also a deterrent. Who knows why? I shall see what develops. Thank you everyone. T
If you did that then eventually you wouldn't want to go into the garden, either.
