Nearly finished except for 9D which I am unsure of.

Clue: Headland area's skyward ridges.

I have ASA_ (4) Could it be ASAR?

If not, please help/hint (I don't have Chambers hard copy)

ASAR looks good to me. It is the plural of AS which is an esker or a ridge. A RAS is a headland.

So RAS backwards plus an A for area.
