A dramatic 1815 event that took place at 8.234 degrees S x 117.920 degrees E had tremendous consequences for much of the United States, especially the northeast. What is the place, what was the event and what were the consequences?

the Tambora eruption in Indonesia 1815 was the largest explosion of the last 10,000 years. the shockwaves were reported over 5000 miles away. The insuing global climate fall from the ash output was thought to be as high as 2 degrees celsius. There were reported poor harvests and record snowfalls in the USA and Europe. The second loudest noise heard by humans. (The loudest was the Toba eruption 74,000 years ago)
