If I swap sim cards from an orange pay monthly nokia N70 to a vodafone pay monthly motorola V3 will they both still work?

possibly, but the phones may be locked into the respective networks. I bought my daughter an o2 Nokia pay as you go mobile for Christmas and she put her Tesco Mobile sim card in and it works, however the 02 sim card my son tried to insert into a Tesco Mobile phone wouldn't work as it was network locked.

Phones can be unlocked by almost any phone provider. A stall holder at a local market to me unlocks almost any phone for �5

No Vodafone look their contract phones.
