December issue: All are Scottish words, terms or slang and also could also be regional Scottish terms or variations only used in specific geographical areas. Due to difficulty and often many variations of spelling, some of my adjoining letters might be in error.

Nearly done!

15a. Sulking (2-1-4) I? A ?U?C

Assuming 10d. Pasty-faced (7) FAUCHIE is correct to give the letter C.

16a. Stir or rake up (4) C??R or G??R

Assuming 11d. Tough (5) T???? is TEUCH or TEUGH (or something else?).

24d. A team to build cornstacks (4) S?T?

Possibly SETT or SETS maybe

Thanks again

16 My dictionary has Teuch (and Cheuch, for the future?) meaning tough.

can also be spelt fyauchy

16a gaur means to jumble up

Thanks, Moore - and I expect Teugh will be a legitimate version of Teuch, many Scottish words have umpteen variations!

Thanks all

newmodarmy: cannot be the FYAUCHY version as it would make three more wrong (and I think they're right). So unless there's another answer out there we haven't found yet, FAUCHIE is looking good for 10d - even though it's giving that last letter C for 15a.

15 I've come across In A Fung and In A Funk, meaning sulking. Could the Fauchie be Faughie?....

^^ If it is, then answer could be in a bung as I suggested on a previous thread?

15a info

on the bung: In the huff.  ?in a bung
