maureen can you please go back to your first post as there is no need to start a new one
What is the clue for 25A as I don't have the crossword?
If E might be wrong, Outweed = Get shot (rid)?
What is the clue for 21
D?
Sorry, thought it was 7 letters. :-)
Maureen gave this E?T?E?D so it is 7 letters, Patsy
Im confused by all these threads on the same thing.
Best I help I can give is to add the clue

21D Clue Make a killing, free from vice, I have clean up. E?T?E?D.
I'm not sure it reads right though- "i have clean up" sounds odd clueing

Someone said its been answered (outweed? but that makes a crosser wrong)
Maybe it was got shout? although someone said Eat Lead. Forgotten that clue now
Well I give up , it seems the clean up bit wasnt part of the clue.
So confusing. Eatlead does fit if two words but I dont know the exact clue after all
Best to keep it all together next time
I'm confused too, bobb!
Bobb, I think the clue for 21D is ''Make a killing, free from vice,'' for which maureen has suggested ''clean up''
Eat lead sounds right if it's 2 words:
//To be shot; to be hit with bullets.//
but the pattern given for 21d was E?T?E?D.
Yes, but if it's 2 words 'eat lead' fits
Free from vice sounds like clean up. Maybe the "make a killing and clean up are seperate clues
elliemay... thanks but 21d was said to be clean up but pattern shown as E?T?E?D.
21D 'Clean up' is the answer to ''Make a killing, free from vice,'' not a clue!
Goodness me! The answer to "Make a killing, free from vice" was CLEAN UP.

The answer to "Get shot" was EAT LEAD.

Are we clear now?
I've already given that Llanfair
