Finally got the 1% question right this week - but only because the contestant was musing out loud.
I think he would have got it right if he'd have gone for it.
How did you do?

He was under no pressure and although close, failed to get it still.
I watched it for the first time last week and after they explained the 1% Q I still didn't get it :o(
I did get the 1% question right and he didn't. I did OK as I'm used to these kind of questions. What both me and my husband find irritating is some questions can't be attempted unless you get up and move close to the screen because they are just to small to study easily, the 3 calendar months one being a prime example.
Same problem as Prudie, why can't they enlarge some of the question for the viewers? I couldn't see the one with the envelopes last week, nor the ones with the calendars this week. Didn't get the last question.

I can see the questions okay but I do have a very large tv. Hopefully next series they will have fixed that niggle.

tigger, the last question was really quite straightforward. The question was:
In sport, if being FT gets you GD and being SD gets you SR, what does being TD get you?

FirsT gets you GolD; SeconD gets you SilveR and ThirD gets you BronzE, so the answer is BE
I don't think that was the one, Barry. It was the 'STATTTTTTTTTTT' Q, or something like that anyway, from previous show.

Sorry, I missed the 'last week' bit
Question Author
The one you was referring to was simply the first letter of 16, 17, 18, 19, 20,21 etc
Ah ok, I would never in a million years have got that one. If it had started from 'one' maybe, just maybe!
Watched this show for the first time last night. Got a few right, but think I'll need to watch it a few times to get the hang of it.
As usual, failed on a few earlier "easy" questions but did well on the more "difficult" ones...got the 1% in about 10 seconds.
BTW...that was last in the series, 8th of eight.
I agree about the small words. Very frustrating. Perhaps we should all lobby them before the next series.
as people here wang on about it every week, i decided to watch it. Glad i did, i enjoyed it! i got the 1% one but had failed earlier on NEWS.
barryi know you said previously you pause it and i think you havevirgin ike me, but i found when i paused it the blooming timer comes up across the bottom and hides half the q
Question Author
bednobs, yes, I do watch through Virgin and I get the same bar across the screen which hides the question but it does disappear after a few seconds. If you are too impatient press the 'tv' button immediately below to the home button but to the right. Try it now.
i was thinking he really DID know the answer but was pretending he didnt so he could justify not having taken the gamble
Question Author
You could be right, bednobs. I don't think I would have taken the chance, either
me either.
I would always take the £10,000, too much to lose and it is a fair amount of money.
there's a letter in the Radio Times this week (for next week) also calling for having the questions closer up and onscreen longer. Why not write in agreeing? You can bet the broadcasters pay attention to the RT.
